Mechinagar - Two women of Mechinagar Ward No. 7 who recently returned from India have been sent straight home without being placed in quarantine due to lack of a place to stay. Two women who got back home from Kolkata, India, have been left at home by the ward, citing lack of place to stay in the quarantine.
Chandan Meche, Ward Chairperson of Mechinagar 7 said that those who came from India were teenagers and as there was no place to stay in the quarantine provided by the ward, they were sent home to stay in the home quarantine. According to the locals, as the people from India were sent home without testing the fear of spreading corona infection in the community has increased and the locals are worried after the first infection was seen in Mechinagar.
Social Development Committee Coordinator Nabin Baral, said that the Mechinagar residents from India will be kept in the quarantine provided by the ward directly from the checkpoint and the PCR will be tested within two or three days of the time. RDT test will not be done anymore.
Regarding the deportation of people from India directly to Mechinagar Ward No. 7, Baral said that they had sent them to the ward and the ward itself was given the responsibility of quarantine management to keep the ward residents.
