Mechinagar Municipality Corona Update.

Mechinagar municipality corona infection count reached 19 as of Friday afternoon. The toll reached 19 after an 18 years-old man quarantined at Devi Basic School, Mechinagar ward no.1 tested positive for coronavirus this Friday. He returned from Chennai, India on 9 June and was quarantined at the ward quarantine. His throat swab was collected on 22 June along with 10 other people of which the remaining tested negative for coronavirus infection.
The first coronavirus case was confirmed in a man who returned from Delhi, India and stayed in the quarantine of Pashupati Secondary School of Mechinagar-4 and the second case was found in a man staying at the quarantine of Balbhadra Basic School at Mechinagar 3.
Similarly, two men staying in the quarantine of Jana Kalyan Secondary School at Mechinagar 5, a man home quarantined at Mechinagar 6, three women quarantined at Atithi Sadan and eight men quarantined at Radha Swami of Mechinagar 10 and two people including a man and child from Mechinagar 11 were tested positive for coronavirus. These infected people are being treated at different isolation center across the province.
The District Health Office authority informed 4 new cases were confirmed across Jhapa in last 24 hours. Three of the infected are in Damak Municipality and one in Mechinagar
Meanwhile, the coronavirus infection count has reached 221 in Jhapa district alone. Of the total confirmed cases, 165 people have recovered with 0 death.
