The government has changed the modality of lockdown. The cabinet meeting held on Wednesday has decided to change the modalities of the lockdown that has been going on since March 24. A minister said that it has been decided to reorganize the lockdown. It has been said that agriculture, industry and trade will be relaxed by following the standards of health care.
According to him, there is a possibility of operating vehicles in the low-risk areas including the Kathmandu Valley by implementing Odd-Even system, while schools, cinema halls and other crowded places will not be opened immediately. He said that the government will give detailed information about this Thursday evening.
After the second case of coronavirus (COVID 19) was found in Nepal, the government had stopped the movement at the international border checkpoints from March 23 and imposed lockdown all over the country from March 24. Since then, the lockdown time has been extended several times and the last extended time has been maintained till June 14.
But the government has not come up with a plan to loosen the two-and-a-half-month-long lockout, and businessmen have started opening spontaneous shops. The CCMC had also made a six-step loose down proposal to ease the lockdown. But no decision has been made accordingly, said a minister. He said, "It is difficult to say much now. We will make it public in detail on Thursday."
